For people stumbling across this thread, I definitely DO NOT recommend anybody buy this UPS. It read, CyberPower PowerPanel Personal Installer cant be opened. I am disgusted that I paid $180 CAD for this, and this is the second RMA thats doing this. I followed the setup and battery charge instructions, which are to plug the unit in. So, after doing the math, this UPS has a switchover period of about 66ms where the voltage is out of spec. In the video I recorded, once power is disconnected the light bulb is half on for about one frame, and is completely off for three consecutive frames before turning back on in the fourth frame. Please visit and go to the Software Section for free download. The selection for Power is grayed out I cant change it from off. I clicked customize in the system tray, and Turn System Icons on or off. If you are not familiar with computer hardware, please call 88 to speak with our technicians so that we may assist you to resolve your problem. This UPS can communicate with the included PowerPanel software via either USB or serial cable (depending on your computer setup). I don't have an oscilloscope to accurately test the switchover time, but I did do a slightly less accurate test using my phone camera recording at 60 FPS. PowerPanel Business software is available on our website. Unfortunately, no battery meter appears in the system tray, and I cant configure Windows 7s handling of the UPS. Please also note that CyberpowerPC is not responsible for any physical damage that is done to the computer or component due to improper removal and/or installation of computer components. PowerPanel Personal helps you turn on sound notifications upon various power events via your computer’s speakers or Internet speaker in CyberPower. To my surprise, the switchover time is so long that the incandescent bulb actually shuts off briefly when unplugging the unit. I have just installed a new Cyberpower ups, connected the usb cable to the imac, downloaded and installed the software Powerpanel. I plugged in a 40w incandescent lamp and gave it a go. I connected it up to the UPS battery terminals using a non official method but still very securely none the less. Voltage was 14.1 when I checked with a multi meter. Since the battery in my unit was getting old, I got my car battery hot off the alternator after my drive home today. I still have this crap UPS, and yes it is still crap. but the rest of the computers connected to the other remaining battery protected outlets wont know and cannot be configured to automatically shutdown. Sorry to revive my old thread, but I found some info worth sharing.
